No injuries reported after tree falls into home

Firefighters were called to a home in the 6400 block of Fairview Road in Chattanooga shortly before 7:30 p.m. Saturday in response to a report of a tree collapsing and intruding into an occupied house.

Firefighters confirmed that no one was injured and assessed the damage and safety of the occupants.

"The fallen tree rested on the house with about a two-foot intrusion into the second floor of the structure with no threat of causing further damage," reads a Saturday evening news release from the Chattanooga Fire Department.

Crews used plastic tarps to cover and protect the residents' personal belongings in the house from damage due to forecasts of more rain.
