Teen seriously injured in cliff jumping incident in Hixson

A teenage boy was taken to a local hospital after he was injured while cliff jumping in Hixson on Monday evening.

Firefighters were called to the 6000 block of Water View Lane in the Hidden Harbor Subdivision at 6:30 p.m., according to a news release.

The boy had fallen 40 feet and sustained serious injuries after hitting the water.

First responders had to hike a quarter mile down the trail to reach the boy.

His current condition is not yet known.
