Investigators identify pedestrian struck, killed on Apison Pike

UPDATE: Hamilton County Sheriff's Office traffic investigators have identified the pedestrian killed on Apison Pike Tuesday, according to a news release.

Richard B. Lamneck, 46, of Cleveland, Tenn., was fatally struck by a passing vehicle.

The incident is currently under investigation, the release states.

ORIGINAL STORY: A pedestrian has been killed in Hamilton County Tuesday evening, according to the sheriff's department.

Sheriff's deputies were called to the 12600 block of Apison Pike on a report of an accident involving two vehicles, a news release states.

A preliminary investigation indicates a Ford F-250 was stopped in the eastbound lane because of a flat tire on the trailer it was hauling.

The pedestrian was on the left side of the trailer when the trailer and pedestrian were struck by a Ford F-150 going east on Apison Pike.

The pedestrian struck was pronounced deceased at the scene.
