The Chattanooga Housing Authority will be meeting with property owners and rental managers over lunch this week as it seeks temporary space for tenants whose units are up for renovation, according to a news release.
The housing authority has applied for tax credits to upgrade its apartments at Cromwell Hills, Glenwood North and East, Woodside Apartments and Missionary Heights.
Should that tax break come through, families living in those apartments will need a place to live while the renovations are completed. CHA's Sammie Carpenter said the Housing Choice Voucher Program can help eligible families find temporary homes until their apartments are refinished.
"The best fit for our residents would be properties located near bus lines to allow them to work or attend school," Carpenter said in the news release.
CHA is hosting a luncheon at noon Thursday for interested property owners and rental managers at its central office, 801 N. Holtzclaw Ave. RSVP at Ed@CHAHousing.org.

"The renovations we're making will make our communities better places to live; however, we couldn't do this important work without strong partners," CHA Executive Director Betsy McCright said in the release. "We look forward to working with the community to provide housing options for our residents."
