Police have apprehended an attempted murder suspect who was placed on the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Top Ten Most Wanted list in May.

Dominic Collins, 30, is suspected in the April attempted murder of 47-year-old Leonard Myree.

Collins was arrested Friday by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Lynchburg (Virginia) Police Department in response to a tip that led law enforcement to a Lynchburg apartment. Following a brief attempt to flee, Collins surrendered without incident, according to a Friday evening news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

"The Chattanooga Police Department appreciates the assistance received in apprehending this violent felon," the release states. "CPD will work with our law enforcement partners in Tennessee and Virginia to have Collins extradited to Hamilton County."

Collins has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The charges related to an April 13 incident.

Myree was shot once at the Circle K on Shallowford Road and sustained serious injuries but was expected to survive at the time. No further information was released as to the victim's current condition.
