Gordon County Administrator Jim Ledbetter dropped a civil filing against Magistrate James Patrick Rasbury today, declaring that the mystery of where Rasbury lives has been solved.

Ledbetter filed the case in August, saying he wanted an outside judge to determine whether Rasbury actually lives outside the county. This would disqualify him as the county magistrate.

The case began after Rasbury renewed his driver's license in June. He listed his address as a home he owns in Catoosa County. The Department of Drivers Services forwarded the information to he Gordon County Board of Elections and Voter Registration.

But according to a filing today, Rasbury renewed his license again Aug. 15, this time listing his address on Sherwood Drive in Calhoun. In today's filing, Ledbetter and Rasbury's attorney, William Thompson, wrote that they felt it was appropriate to drop the case.
