Chattanooga police have arrested a suspect in connection to the shooting of a woman and a 4-year-old child Tuesday night, according to a CPD release.

Officers found the woman and child suffering from gunshot wounds on the 2100 block of Foust Street. They were later treated at a local hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.

Maurice Thurman Jr., 18, has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to the release.

Police say the CPD public safety cameras monitored at the Real Time Intelligence Center helped them locate Thurman Jr. and the vehicle he was driving at the time of the incident.
