A man showed up at a local hospital Friday evening, saying he had been shot more than a week ago "while on the dance floor of a club somewhere along Brainerd Road," according to a release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

However, police did not respond to any reported shootings that night at clubs on Brainerd Road, according to department spokeswoman Elisa Myzal.

Typically, dispatch receives multiple calls and people post videos on social media when there are club shootings. There has been no evidence of either.

It is not clear at this time why the man waited more than a week to seek medical attention. The unidentified victim arrived at the hospital at approximately 7:30 p.m. yesterday and told police he had been shot Thursday, October 11.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 423-698-2525. Callers may remain anonymous.
