A Georgia man was killed and two other people were injured Friday in a head-on collision on Alabama Highway 35, a couple of miles south of Scottsboro, Alabama.

Williard Parker, 89, of Rainsville, was injured when the 2016 Toyota he was driving collided head-on with a 2009 Chevrolet driven by Willie Johnson, 73, of Andersonville, Ga., according to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency spokesman Curtis Summerville.

Parker, who was not using a seat belt, was transported to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries. Johnson, along with a passenger in his vehicle, were also transported to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries, Summerville said. The crash occurred at 2:35 p.m. CDT. Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
