A Bradley County (Tennessee) Jail inmate reportedly died Tuesday, the sheriff's office confirms.

The inmate has not yet been identified, and there are no additional details as to the circumstances of the death.

Emergency personnel were called to the jail at around 12:30 p.m., according to a news release.

District Attorney Steve Crump and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have been notified.

It is routine for the TBI to investigate when people die in law enforcement custody, Crump has previously said.

This is the third inmate death in 2018, sheriff's office spokesman Adam Lewis told the Times Free Press.

A man died on the morning of April 19 after he was found unresponsive in a holding cell.

And in August, a woman was found unresponsive inside a cell.

This is a developing story.
