KNOXVILLE - Mike Canales has coached football for 34 years at various collegiate and NFL levels, but he will experience a first on Saturday.

The Texas El-Paso offensive coordinator will coach against a school where he previously worked when UTEP takes on Tennessee on Saturday at Neyland Stadium.

Canales coached quarterbacks at Tennessee in 2017. It was a tough season for the Vols, but Canales endeared himself to fans during his time in Knoxville with his energetic personality and impressive recruiting efforts.

He joined the Vols Beat Podcast to discuss the challenges of turning UTEP around, reflect on his time in Knoxville and look ahead to Saturday's game.
