ORIGINAL STORY: Students and a parent at Central High School were taken into custody after a fight Friday, according to Hamilton County Schools and the sheriff's office.
The fight among several students broke out during dismissal at the end of the school day, sheriff's office spokesman Matt Lea said in a news release.
The school's SRO called the sheriff's office for backup, and officers took four students accused of disorderly conduct to the Juvenile Detention Center, Lea said. Additional charges are possible, depending on what witnesses say and security camera footage shows.
Tim Hensley, spokesman for Hamilton County Schools, said the fight started among two students and that another student and a parent joined in. Hensley said the sheriff's office took at least one student and the parent into custody.
It wasn't clear why Hensley's and Lea's accounts differed. Neither provided any information on what the fight was about. The students' names were not released because they are juveniles.
Hensley said that "appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken by the school."
