Hamilton County deputies rescue 11-year-old boy after he was washed away by flooding

An 11-year-old boy was rescued from a culvert on Coffelt Road Wednesday after being caught up in rushing water.

The child did not sustain any injuries, according to a post on the department's Facebook page.

Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Deputies were called to the scene after a neighbor heard the young boy scream after getting washed into the culvert, the post read.

The neighbor got down into the culvert and helped to keep the child's head above water until deputies could arrive on scene, the post read.

When they arrived, deputies were able to free the juvenile and and help him and the neighbor get to safety.

Emergency personnel were called to medically review the child.
