UNION CITY, Ga. (AP) - A police officer in suburban Atlanta has been shot.
A Union City officer was shot Monday evening, police and Union City Mayor Vince Williams tell local news outlets.
The officer was taken to an Atlanta hospital, but no medical condition has been released. It's unclear what happened or if anyone else was injured.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says it has been called in to investigate the shooting.
This is the 27th shooting involving a police officer in Georgia so far this year.
