A fire broke out in a patient's room at Moccasin Bend Mental Health Institute Wednesday afternoon.
Chattanooga Fire Department spokesman Bruce Garner said the hospital's sprinkler system put out the flames before firefighters arrived, and there is more water damage than there is fire damage.
No injuries have been reported, he said.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
