Suspect arrested after man dies from being intentionally hit by vehicle in Hixson

UPDATE: Chattanooga fugitive detectives, with the assistance of Hamilton County fugitive detectives, U.S. Marshals and Soddy Daisy police, have arrested Jackson.

Jackson will be taken to the Hamilton County Jail and faces a charge of criminal homicide.

ORIGINAL STORY: The man struck by a vehicle in Hixson early Wednesday morning has died.

Chattanooga police were called to the 1900 block of Northpoint Boulevard at around 3:15 a.m. and found 35-year-old Darllel Brown lying on the ground in a parking lot.

Brown was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

As investigators gathered evidence, they determined that Brown had been intentionally struck after an altercation with the suspect, Charles Jackson, 26.

Jackson has not yet been arrested, but police have obtained warrants for his arrest and will be charged with criminal homicide.

The Chattanooga Police Department denied a request for the initial incident report.
