Thursday morning fire damages house on Missionary Ridge

A fire damaged a house Thursday morning on Missionary Ridge, according to a Chattanooga Fire Department news release.

Units from both the Rossville Fire Department and the CFD were dispatched about 7 a.m. on the report of smoke near the Tennessee-Georgia border near Rossville.

Rossville Engine 1, Squad 1 and Quint 9 from the CFD arrived to find a house fire in the 200 block of Wahella Avenue in Chattanooga.

Fire crews from Rossville and Chattanooga made an interior fire attack together and four other Chattanooga units arrived on the scene to help control the blaze.

The fire was called under control at 7:27 a.m.

There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Chattanooga police, Hamilton County Emergency Services and EPB were also on the scene to assist.
