Ooltewah mom barricaded herself inside her home after ramming into her husband's vehicle while he and the children were inside

An Ooltewah woman was taken into custody early Friday after authorities say she rammed her husband's car with he and her children inside.

Responding to an accident call at about 8:30 a.m., deputies with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office arrived at a home at 6366 Veronica Drive and learned the woman had struck her husband's vehicle before hitting another one, according to a news release. She returned home and barricaded herself inside.

SWAT personnel entered the home around 9:15 a.m. and took her into custody without incident. Medical personnel on scene evaluated the woman and said she showed signs of impairment, the release states. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The woman's name has not been released; charges are pending.
