A Chattanooga police officer-involved shooting has left one person injured in the 2000 block of Cleveland Avenue Tuesday evening, police spokeswoman Elisa Myzal confirmed.
Chattanooga police Chief David Roddy said some investigators engaged with a person some time before 7 p.m.
Our officers perform a dangerous job keeping us safe. Tonight I am thankful they were uninjured and were able to get the suspect to the hospital as soon as possible

As the interaction unfolded, the suspect fired shots at the officers, according to witness statements, Roddy said.
Officers then returned fire and struck the suspect. He was taken to a local hospital where he is being treated for gunshot injuries, though his condition is not known at this time.
Investigators did locate a firearm at the scene, which they believe to belong to the suspect, Roddy said.
Going forward, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office will lead the investigation.
The involved officers have been placed on administrative leave pending the investigation.
"The thing that I would like for our community to understand is, one, we're grateful that our officers weren't harmed," Roddy said. "We ask their patience and understanding as we work the investigation and understand that, as we are made privy or understand more events as to what occurred tonight, we will work with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office and move toward being able to release as much as we can as the investigation unfolds."
Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke said in a Tuesday night tweet he was thankful no officers were injured.
"Our officers perform a dangerous job keeping us safe. Tonight I am thankful they were uninjured and were able to get the suspect to the hospital as soon as possible," the tweet reads.
