A two-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle just after 10 a.m. Thursday, according to a news release from the East Ridge Police Department.
The girl was believed to have been chasing a dog into the road when she was hit. The vehicle braked after the driver saw the child, but still struck her, the release states.
The girl ran back into her yard after her mother called her and was transported to TC Thompson Children's hospital for treatment of minor injuries. She was awake and talking, according to the release.
