Chattanooga police have arrested a man suspected of sexually assaulting at least two women, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Tremaine Lamar Anderson, 25, was arrested Tuesday on charges of aggravated rape and aggravated kidnapping. Additional charges could be added as the investigation continues, the news release states.

The first incident occurred between 6 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. on April 23, when a woman was shot, allegedly by Anderson. Her injury was not life-threatening.

The second incident occurred at around the same time just under a week later on Monday. The woman in that incident told police she was sexually assaulted by a man whose description matched Anderson's.

Anderson remains in custody at the Hamilton County Jail, according to online jail records. His bond has been set at a total of $300,000, according to Hamilton County Court clerks.

Chattanooga police ask anyone who may have been victimized by Anderson to call 423-698-2525 and ask to speak with a Special Victims Unit investigator to file a report.
