ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. (AP) -- A Tennessee woman's leg has been amputated in an incident involving a rope and a wood chipper.

News outlets report the rope got caught in the wood chipper, wrapped around the woman's leg and severed it Monday morning in Ashland City.

Cheatham County Sheriff Mike Breedlove says a medical helicopter took the woman to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment. WKRN-TV reports the woman also suffered a severe injury to her other leg.

Breedlove says the woman was working with at least one other person to trim trees in a residential area.

Ashland City is located about 20 miles (32 kilometers) northwest of Nashville
