Chattanooga police investigating report of attempted kidnapping

Chattanooga police say they are investigating an attempted kidnapping, according to a news release.

Police received a report Thursday evening of a man attempting to kidnap a 17-year-old girl in the 2100 block of Robbins Street.

The suspect is described as having a mustache and dark complexion. He was driving a red four door Chevrolet, the release states.

The CPD Violent Crimes Bureau is handling the investigation.

Police say parents and guardians should be vigilant and speak with children about the dangers of talking to strangers and to immediately contact police if they observe anything suspicious.
