Update: Woman's body found in Catoosa County identified as Birchwood resident

Update:

The body found on Aug. 17 along Magill Lane in Ringgold, Georgia, has been identified as that of Brandi Jane Elliot, a 38-year-old resident of Birchwood, Tennessee.

The death remains under investigation, according to Sheriff Gary Sisk.

An autopsy report done on an unknown woman's body that was found Saturday night in Catoosa County showed no trauma to the body or any signs of foul play.

The Catoosa County Sheriff's Office said in a press release Tuesday that the cause of death is pending the results of the toxicology after the autopsy was performed at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Crime Lab.

On Saturday night, a passerby spotted a woman's body lying in a ditch along Magill Lane in Ringgold.

Catoosa County Sheriff's Office and EMS responded to the scene where they found the woman without any signs of a scuffle or violence at the scene.

Catoosa County Sheriff Gary Sisk said that the identity of the woman is still unknown. The medical examiner has estimated the age of the woman as between 35 and 45 years old.

The woman is five-foot-eight, 140 pounds and has brown hair that has been bleached blonde.

The woman does not have any tattoos and all of her teeth have been removed for dentures. The woman was wearing blue jeans and a black tank top shirt when investigators found her.
