A woman has died after she was hit by a car on I-75 South Wednesday night, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.
Hollie Eades, 29, was struck by a 31-year-old driver of a car taking the East Brainerd Road exit at around 8:05 p.m.
Eades had just been involved in a rear end collision on I-75 South and had pulled her car over on the shoulder of the off ramp. She left her vehicle to exchange information with the driver of the other vehicle, which was also on the shoulder, and was hit as she crossed traffic, the release states.
Eades was transported to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries.

An investigation is currently underway.
