One of the victims in a Jan. 29 shooting in Chattanooga's Westside died Monday, police said.
Bernice Williams, 32, was shot in the head multiple times at around 12:30 a.m. at a home in the 700 block of West Main Street Court. Another victim was shot in the neck, though his injury was described as not life-threatening.
Robert Orr, 28, was named as a suspect in connection to the shooting.
Orr was in the home where the two victims were and began shooting the man before turning and shooting Williams, according to court records.
Multiple shell casings were found throughout the front room of the house where the shooting occurred.
Orr was arrested two days later on Jan. 31 and charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a dangerous felony.
He was taken to the Hamilton County Jail, where he remains in custody. His bond was set at $100,000.
Orr has an arrest history in Hamilton County dating back to 2009, according to online court records. His charges range from disorderly conduct to assault and robbery.
Williams' death marks Chattanooga's third homicide for 2019. By this time last year, the city had seen only one homicide.
Sandra Crews, 60, died on Jan. 26, three days after being stabbed multiple times in a home in the 100 block of Willie Way. Joanna Alder, 35, was charged in connection to the slaying.
On Jan. 11, Taja Whiteside was found dead in a home in the 5800 block of Moody Sawyer Road in Hixson. Police have not yet announced a cause of death but have ruled it a homicide. No suspect has been publicly identified.
