Chattanooga police have named Kameron Leslie, 30, as a suspect exactly one month since the Jan. 11 killing of Taja Whiteside.

Whiteside was found strangled to death in her home in the 5800 block of Moody Sawyer Road.

He has been charged with one count of first degree murder, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Chattanooga police are now asking the public for help in locating Leslie.

He is described as a black male, 6'0" in height, and weighs approximately 175 pounds.

In the meantime, Whiteside's family has been trying to raise awareness on social media, asking for help finding the man suspected of killing her.

"I know we will all have an [unsettled] soul," Whiteside's cousin Akedus Hamilton said, "knowing ... an angel [was taken] from this earth."

If anyone has any information about the murder or Kameron Leslie's whereabouts, they are urged to call the Chattanooga Police Department Homicide Tip Line at (423) 643-5100 or submit a tip using the free Chattanooga PD smartphone app. Anyone providing a tip can remain anonymous.
