Threat investigated at Red Bank High School, school put on soft lockdown around dismissal

Law enforcement investigated a threat to Red Bank High School today.

The school was put on a soft lockdown around dismissal today, said Hamilton County Schools spokesman Tim Hensley, but dismissal then proceeded as normal.

"Parents or students or a combination of both shared that they had heard of a possible threat to the school," Hensley said.

The threat was reported by an anonymous tip via the school's tip line, according to Hamilton County Sheriff's Office spokesman Matt Lea.

Red Bank's school resource officer and Hamilton County Schools personnel "worked together to investigate the rumor and found it to be non-credible," Lea said in an email.

A specific student that law enforcement was interested in speaking with as part of the investigation was not in attendance today, Hensley added.

No further details are immediately available from law enforcement.
