Kane Brown gets single of the year nomination from Academy of Country Music

Country singer Kane Brown received a single of the year nomination from the Academy of Country Music for his multiplatinum hit "Heaven" when nominations were announced Wednesday morning by Reba McEntire.

Brown was raised in northwest Georgia and the Chattanooga area.

The 54th ACM Awards will be held April 7 in Las Vegas.

Chris Stapleton and duo Dan + Shay led the list of nominees with six each.
