Chattanooga police escort fallen officer to funeral in Cincinnati, Ohio

Chattanooga police officers will begin an escort for Officer Nicholas Galinger Wednesday morning from Heritage Funeral Home to Cincinnati, Ohio.

The Chattanooga Police Department motor unit will lead the escort from Heritage Funeral Home located on 7454 E. Brainerd Road starting at approximately 9 a.m.

The Chattanooga motor unit and the Tennessee Highway Patrol will escort Officer Galinger to Knoxville where the Knoxville Police Department will take over the escort.

Chattanooga Police Officers will line the route from the funeral home by standing on sidewalks on both sides of East Brainerd Road to Interstate 75 North.

Just prior to departure, East Brainerd Road traffic between North Joiner Road and Gunbarrel Road will be stopped. The stoppage is not expected to last more than 15 minutes.
