TBI adds Chattanooga man wanted for murdering Hixson woman to its most wanted list

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has added Chattanooga man Kameron Leslie to its Top 10 Most Wanted list.

Leslie, 30, is facing a first-degree murder charge in the death of a Hixson woman found strangled in her home in January.

He is described as a 6-foot tall black man weighing 180 pounds. He should be considered armed and dangerous, the TBI warns.

Chattanooga police say 30-year-old Taja Whiteside was found in her home on Jan. 11, but the cause of death was not know at the time. Her death was ruled a homicide on Jan. 17. A medical examiner said she had blunt-force injuries to the head but died from manual strangulation.

Early on, police sought Leslie for questioning but stopped short of naming him a suspect.

He was previously charged with domestic assault against Whiteside in Greene County, Tennessee, on Nov. 24, according to Greene County court records.

A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for information leading to his arrest.
