NASHVILLE - U.S. Rep. Chuck Fleischmann has named Lisa Eyster to a newly created role as his Hamilton County director.

Fleischmann, an Ooltewah Republican, said in a new release he's "excited" to have Eyster join his staff.

"Lisa will serve as Hamilton County Director – a new position created to respond to the needs and further development of one of my largest counties," Fleischmann said. "Lisa brings a fresh perspective, in addition to a unique set of knowledge, skills, and expertise that I believe will greatly benefit the community."

Eyster will work exclusively in Hamilton County and be responsible for increasing direct outreach with the business, civic, education and healthcare communities.

In a statement, Eyster said she is "thrilled to be a part of Congressman Fleischmann's team in the Third Congressional District, and look forward to working, on his behalf, with the citizens of Hamilton County.

She previously organized and directed senatorial and gubernatorial campaign efforts in addition to working at the U.S. Capitol.

Eyster worked most recently as the Southeast Tennessee regional field director for now-Gov. Bill Lee's successful 2018 campaign. In the past, she has worked for then-U.S. Rep. John Duncan and served as state organizational director for the campaign of then-U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Alabama.

She attended the University of Tennessee-Knoxville before transferring and graduating from James Madison University in Virginia.

Fleischmann says Bob White will remain the congressman's deputy chief of staff for 3rd Congressional District operations.
