Man arrested, charged in fatal shooting in McMinnville, Tennessee

A McMinnville, Tennessee, man is behind bars on a murder charge after authorities began investigation a shooting Friday that left Darius Michael Bishop, 33, dead after being shot by two masked men who forced their way through the front door of a Lind Street home.

Bishop, who at the home with several other people, confronted the intruders and was shot, according to a Tennessee Bureau of Investigation statement. McMinnville police and The 31st Judicial District Attorney's office also participated in the investigation.

Bishop was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased, officials said.

On Sunday, authorities arrested 42-year-old Terrence Lamont Malone and charged him with one count of felony murder and one count of especially aggravated burglary. He was booked into the Warren County Jail, where his bond was set at $1.5 million.

The investigation is ongoing.
