A Hamilton County school bus crashed in the 1100 block of Boy Scout Road Wednesday afternoon. No one on the bus was injured, officials say, but the driver of a second vehicle was taken to a local hospital.

Hamilton County Sheriff's Office traffic investigators responded to the scene at around 3:20 p.m. involving Bus No. 2 from Middle Valley Elementary School and a Chevrolet Blazer, according to a sheriff's office news release.

Eight children were on board.

Investigators determined the school bus was heading west on Boy Scout Road and failed to yield to oncoming traffic as it attempted to turn left onto Hampton Wood Circle, the news release states.

That is when the driver of the Chevrolet Blazer struck the bus as it turned left. That person was taken to the hospital for medical review, according to the news release.

The students on the bus were released at the scene to the custody of their parents or caregivers.
