Although the threat of winter precipitation has faded for much of the Chattanooga area, some schools and businesses will be closed or will delay opening on Wednesday.
Temperatures are expected to dip into the low 20s and mid to upper teens overnight for the greater Chattanooga region. The coldest temperatures of the week are forecasted for Thursday.
Bradley County Schools will be closed Wednesday because of the possibility of black ice on the roads. Cleveland City Schools will closed Wednesday because of heating issues in some classrooms.
Miller Motte Tech will be open for night classes beginning at 6 p.m.
All Whitfield County schools and administrative offices will reopen Wednesday at the regular time.
Chattanooga Gas will return to regular operations Wednesday.
