A Chattanooga business was damaged by fire Wednesday afternoon, according to a Chattanooga Fire Department news release.

Chattanooga firefighters were dispatched shortly before noon to a fire at Southern Energy Water & Air in the 900 block of Taft Avenue.

Firefighters with Engine 5 were the first on the scene and they reported seeing flames on the exterior of the building, Battalion Chief Ashley May said.

The fire was beginning to penetrate into the interior and May called for a second alarm response as a precaution, but the firefighters on the scene had the fire under control in roughly 15 minutes.

Only three employees were reportedly in the building when the fire was discovered. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
