Flowers Foods, Inc., has issued a voluntary recall of hamburger and hot dog buns and other bakery products because of the "potential presence" of hard plastic pieces that may have been introduced during production, according to a news release.

The retail products were distributed under different brand names in states including Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama. No injuries or illnesses have been reported, the release states.

Brand names involved include Clover Valley, Flowers, Great Value, Grissom's Mill, Laura Lynn, Member's Mark, Oven Fresh, Piggly Wiggly, Publix, Sunbeam and Wonder, among others.

Consumers should discard any affected products or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may call Flowers' Consumer Relations Center at 1-866-245-8921 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern time on weekdays.
