Dalton firefighters snuff out apartment blaze late Monday

An apartment fire was quickly extinguished Monday night by Dalton firefighters but not before it caused smoke and fire damage to several apartments.

According to a news release from the Dalton Fire Department spokesman Bruce Frazier, the fire happened at 2104 Club Drive, reported at 8:54 p.m. Monday.

The fire originated in an interior wall and damaged the second floor attic and roof before crews found the fire and snuffed it out, officials said. There was also heat damage to the siding and a breezeway ceiling at an adjacent apartment unit.
