ATHENS, Ga. (AP) -- Authorities say a pregnant woman was shot to death while walking with her toddler son in Athens.
Athens-Clarke County police Deputy Chief Jerry Saulters says the fetus also was killed in the Monday shooting at the Clarke Gardens Apartments, about two miles from the University of Georgia.
Police say officers who found 24-year-old Auriel Callaway dead haven't determined if she was targeted. Saulters says the little boy wasn't hurt and is being cared for by relatives.
Authorities remained on the scene early Tuesday going door-to-door for any clues.
