Two people arrive at Chattanooga hospital with gunshot wounds Sunday morning

The Chattanooga Police Department is investigating after two people arrived at a local hospital with gunshot injuries Sunday morning, according to a news release.

Shortly after midnight, Chattanooga police were dispatched to the 2100 block of East 26th street on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, police located several shell casing but found no victim.

Soon after, a 24-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman arrived at a local hospital by personal vehicle with gunshot injuries that were not life-threatening, the release states. The location of the shooting is unknown, according to police.

The investigation is ongoing, and Chattanooga police ask anyone with information regarding the incident to call 423-698-2525 or submit a tip through the CPD Mobile App. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
