Sheriff's deputies identify victim, suspect in Ooltewah shooting early Tuesday

UPDATE: The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim and suspect in Tuesday morning's Ooltewah shooting. 

Tyler Reid, 21, is accused of shooting 24-year-old John Dee Hayes, who later died from his injuries.

Reid has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and is awaiting booking at the Hamilton County Jail.

ORIGINAL STORY: A man is in custody following a shooting that left one injured in Ooltewah early Tuesday morning.

Hamilton County sheriff's deputies were called to the 9000 block of Heatherloch Lane at around 2 a.m. and found a man with a gunshot wound, according to a news release. 

The man was taken to a local hospital, though his condition is not known, the news release states.

The suspect nor the victim have been identified at this time.
