Man injured in Thursday night shooting on Kayla Circle

A 20-year-old man was injured in a shooting Thursday night, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Police found the man suffering from a gunshot wound at around 8:30 p.m. on the 4000 block of Kayla Circle. The man told investigators he was walking in the area when several men began chasing him. He said he heard gunshots and managed to get away, but afterwards realized he'd been shot, the release states.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police secured the scene and called for the CPD Violent Crimes Unit to further investigate the incident.
