Chattanooga man injured in Saturday morning shooting

A 27-year-old Chattanooga man was injured in a shooting early Saturday, according to police.

Responding to a call of a person shot around 2 a.m., police arrive at a home in the 2100 block of East 12th Street and found a man with a gunshot wound, a news release states.

He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His condition has not been released.

In the course of the investigation, police learned the shooting happened in the 2000 block of Bennett Avenue, not far from where the victim was found, the release states.

Witnesses told police they heard people arguing before they heard gunshots.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information has been released.
