A Silver Creek, Georgia, man was killed Saturday when the 1999 Mack tractor trailer he was driving ran off the road and struck a ditch, then overturned and caught fire.
James Harold Hillis, 61, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Curtis Summerville, spokesman for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. The crash happened at 3:40 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 59 at the 235 mile marker, 15 miles north of Fort Payne, Alabama, Summerville said.
