A Hamilton County Schools bus was involved in an accident Friday.

A car hit the back of the bus and left the scene. One witness at the scene reported seeing smoke coming from the bus.

Law enforcement is responding to the incident.

This is the third accident involving a Hamilton County Schools bus this week.

Around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, a bus was involved in a multi-vehicle crash also on Highway 153 with no students onboard.

On Wednesday, two buses were involved in a crash after one bus hit the other at the intersection of Hunter Road and Barkley Creek Drive.

The accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. while students were being transported to school. About 48 students from Hunter Middle School and Central High School were involved and some reported injuries later in the day.

The bus was headed to East Hamilton for afternoon pick-up.
