Man charged with criminal homicide after body found on Hunt Avenue Sunday

A man was charged with criminal homicide Monday after the body of another man was found Sunday at a Hunt Avenue home, a Chattanooga police news release states.

On Sunday at 8:36 a.m. Chattanooga police responding to a medical emergency call in the 200 block of Hunt Avenue found an unresponsive man behind a home. Emergency medical services personnel arrived and pronounced the man dead, the release from Chattanooga Police Department communications coordinator Elisa Myzal states.

The manner of death of the man, initially not clear, was pronounced homicide on Monday. The victim was identified as Starlin Fike, 47.

Violent crimes investigators with the department identified and arrested suspect Luke Jackson, 42.

Jackson is being held in the Hamilton County Jail,and the investigation is continuing, according to the release.
