Chattanooga firefighters have rescued a dog who became trapped in a house wall in Hixson on Thursday night, according to a release from the Chattanooga Fire Department.

"Bella," a long-haired, toy Dachshund, was reportedly chasing a squirrel when she got into the attic. She then fell through an opening into an interior wall between the den and master bedroom, the release states.

Bella's owners heard her yelping in the wall and couldn't figure out a way to get her out, so they called the fire department.

Firefighters brought in a ladder and used a saw to cut an opening in the wall. Seconds later Bella was pulled out and handed off to Firefighter Brandon McCully, who was waiting below, according to the release.

Bella was not injured.
