East Ridge police are investigating the cause of a crash that killed a man Monday evening on Ringgold Road.
The incident happened around 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of Ringgold Road and Altamaha Street when a Dodge pickup truck traveling west on Ringgold Road T-boned a Camaro that drove into the truck's path from Altamaha Street, according to a news release.
Police say the truck's driver attempted to brake to avoid the car but was unable and collided with the driver's door.
The driver of the Camaro, 58-year-old East Ridge resident John Charles Harvley, was killed in the crash.
Police say Harvley had extensive medical issues and investigators are working to determine if those played a role in the crash.
