UPDATE: The East Ridge Police Department has filed charges against individuals suspected of being involved in the shooting of the 16-year-old.

Police originally reported that the victim was 17 years old.

East Ridge police are investigating a shooting of a 17-year-old on Monday, according to a news release.

Officers responded to reports of a person shot shortly before 5 p.m. on the 3000 block of Shirl Jo Lane, where they found the juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound.

The boy was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No arrests have been made, the release states.
