NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee authorities say a woman has been indicted on charges of bribing a police officer and then a judge.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says 48-year-old Sonya Hawkins Nale of Pikeville was indicted on two counts of bribery of a public servant Monday by a Bledsoe County grand jury.

TBI says agents found that in September, Nale offered to pay an arresting deputy to drop charges against another person. TBI says Nale then offered to pay a judge to drop the same charges.

It is unclear if Nale has an attorney.
